Faith And The Word
The Word only, I wonder how in todays church this statement is viewed, and what does it really mean to those who follow the doctrine of Jesus Christ?
The centurion heard that Jesus was in Capernaum, he knew that Jesus peformed many miracles and because of his great faith, he knew that Jesus could heal his servant. With this knowledge he approached Jesus with confidence, he understood the position of authority and demonstrated that he did. The Centurion explained to Jesus that he was not so special that Jesus should visit his house. But by faith he asked Jesus to “speak the Word only and my servant shall be healed.” (Mat 8:8).
The Word only must be at the centre of every congregational gathering. To be without the Word of God is to be without Christ, His name is the Word of God. The Word of God tells us, that the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us (Joh 1:14). Jesus Christ is the chief cornerstone of the church (Mat 21:42) without Him there is no church, He is the Word of God (Rev 19:13) His testimony is the spirit of prophecy (Rev 19:10). Therefore to all ministers of the gospel, I charge you in Christ Jesus, preach the Word only. God sent His Word to heal and deliver from destruction (Psa 107:20) and God’s Word shall not return void, it shall accomplish what it was sent to do (Isa 55:11).
I pray in the name of Jesus Christ for the power of the Word of truth, faithfulness, and righteousness to be exerted over your life, your work, your children and your relationships. Hallelujah! I speak the Word of God only, that healing and restoration will be your portion in Jesus’ mighty name. Father we give You thanks for every blessing. Amen.
