Pray With Thanksgiving
It is in times of trouble, grief, heartache, sickness, trials, tribulation, and suffering that God through Christ promises to help, He promises to be with us in times of trouble. When mother and father forsake us God will pick us up. He promises to answer when we call and He instructs us to call. What a wonderful blessing to have help in heaven, but what if we don’t call or ask? Scripture says we don’t have because we don’t ask. Jesus invites His hearers so many times in the holy Scriptures to ask in His name. Are we going without the Divine supernatural assistance of a Father full of grace? Are we being disobedient in not asking? Scripture says disobedience is as the sin of witchcraft. Let us watch and pray always (Luk 21:36).
The Word of God tells us to pray without ceasing, to watch in prayer, to give thanks in prayer, to pray for each other and to lift up holy hands doing it. Jesus taught His disciples to pray and He said people everywhere should pray and not faint. All ministerial work is wrapped up in prayer, we praise God in prayer (Psalm 8:1, 1Sam 2:1-2). We worship in prayer Revelation 1:17, John worshipped. We are to call to God who is good and ready to forgive and plentious in mercy unto all them that call upon His name (Psalm 86:5).
Father, in the name of Jesus, we call and ask You to grant us fresh anointing of the Holy Spirit of prayer that we may call always, not amiss but by faith for all things with thanksgiving. Thank You Lord, Amen.
