Human nature can lead us into complex intertwined relationships.

As babies, some of us are born into families that love and take care of us. For others, for one reason or another, they might be put up for adoption, fostered, sent to live with relatives or Grandma, or even abandoned.

So we come up in life having experienced different kinds of relationships inside of biological and non-biological families. What was the norm in one setting could be so very different in another. Our formative years will have shaped our expectations of people and what we can and cannot expect of human beings in general. Our mindsets are being shaped, and beliefs and behaviours are also being developed. How we think about ourselves in relation to other people, and how we treat each other, all spring from our experiences.

As young adults we try to figure out who we are and think about our relationships with family, and how we fit in or not. Then there are all those other relationships outside of home, outside of family, that we need to work through. How do we do that? How did we get through all of that to become who we are today?

Take a look back (if you are able to) and reflect on where you are coming from. Make a note of the hurdles you faced and how you got over them: who was there for you, who stood up for you at school, family members, teachers, friends and people in church etc.

For everyone who is a born again Christian, you might, to some extent, be able to identify times when things worked out in your favour. What you might not have figured out is the ‘how’. These were times when prayer, fasting and Intercession were being made. Mothers, Fathers, relatives, and church family were working in the background.

Life. How complex things have become. The intricacies of human relationships can make or break or us. But, there is a remedy, a solution to all of life’s complexities. Jesus Christ is the answer. He is the one who is there for all of us, all of the time. We can trust and rely on His Word. He is a confidante who will not betray your confidence.

Jesus loves you.  Read John 3:16, and ask Him to help you with life.

Be Blessed, until next time.
