“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith” (Rom 1:16-17 KJVLite). The power of God delivers those who believe the truth of the Word from evil and from sin’s destruction.

I can remember telling congregations to read their Bible because the Word I was preaching  came from it, therefore, if I was ashamed of preaching Jesus Christ all of my words would be in vain. Many people seek the power of God but leave God out of their seeking. Remember this, the power we seek belongs to God, His righteousness is in it.

Father, lead us to the source of Your righteousness. Deliver us from evil through the power of Your Word. The power of the Word of God is for us: it heals us from all manner of sickness, it raises the dead, it breaks the chains of bondage, calms the storms of life, and of the seven seas. Amen.

I pray, may the Word of the Lord dwell in you richly, and with you evermore to bless you altogether, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
