The God of all comfort

“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God,” (2 Cor 1:3-4). Amen.

There are times in our lives when sorrow comes, difficult times, hard to deal with times, painful times where it seems nothing eases the pain and nothing can comfort. But, let me encourage you, the disciples feared in a time when they needed comfort. Jesus knew that as He was about to go to the Father, His disciples would need a comforter. He had to go so that the Father would send, a comforter from heaven, to comfort them, and comfort us all.

My brethren comfort is nearer than we might think. The God whom we serve, is an unending source of comfort. He is the God of all comfort in every situation. His mercy and faithfulness, His kindness and His love for us makes Him the everlasting comforter. And as He eases the pain of our sorrow, we also are able to ease the sorrows of others.

I pray the Lord God, ease all our pain and sorrow, as we ease the pain and sorrow of those who are suffering. I pray, in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour, giving thanks. Amen.
