Be Kind To One Another
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you. (Ephesians 4:32 KJVLite).
The Cambridge dictionary defines ‘kind’ as: 1. generous, helpful, and thinking about other people’s feelings: 2. not causing harm or damage:
The Free dictionary says: 1. Having or showing a friendly, generous, sympathetic, or warm-hearted nature.
1Peter 3:8 instructs thus: “Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous” (KJVLite). Don’t think evil of each other. Don’t speak evil of each other. (Read Amplified Bible 1Peter 3:10-11). For as we already know, evil thoughts come from the heart (Luke 6:45; Matthew 12:35). How sad it is that we could call ourselves followers of Christ Jesus but think unkind thoughts about our sister and our brother.
Father God in heaven, I give You thanks for all Your kindnesses. I pray, Lord God, that as we endeavour by faith to be more and more Christ-like, forgetting our past sins and present failures, we would increasingly show kindness to one another in purity of heart and mind. I pray for your help that no guile (deceit) be found in our mouths, as none were found in Christ, (1Peter 2:22; Isaiah 53:9 ). I pray that as we think in our hearts so are we that would not slight or dismiss one another but rather show Love (Your love in us). In Jesus’ name I pray and give You thanks. Amen.
May the Lord bless you as you read 1Corinthians 13 Amplified Bible.
