God wants us to come to Him, so, he gave us a measure of faith, a mustard seed worth, that is, faith to move mountains (Mat 17:20) enough for us to believe that He is God (Heb 11:6) faith enough to know that anything we ask in His will, He hears (1Jn 5:13-14).

So essential is faith to the child of God, that without it, it is impossible to please God. Enoch had a testimony of faith it was that he pleased God. We are justified by faith, there is no peace without it. Faith gives access to grace that we may stand, endure, rejoice in the hope of God’s glory. Faith gives us access to the grace of God (Rom 5:1-2). By grace we are saved.

He that comes to God must first believe. We as children have come to God because we believe. Now it’s time to please Him, since believe is our faith it is possible to please God. By faith we know that He is God the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Heb 11:6).

John says that he and his companions had confidence, that is to say confidence in the son of God Jesus Christ (1Jn 5:13-14). That is why John was able to say he had confidence to ask in the will of God. Whatsoever the substance of faith can produce, he can ask the person with unmovable knowledge, and believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, is born of God: that person is birthed of God, and can ask anything in the will of God (1Jn 5:1).
