In John 17, Jesus gave His Father’s Word to His Disciples. It made them stand out from the world, and the world responded hatefully. The Disciples became targeted objects of the world’s hate.

It is no different for us today. When we carry the Word of God, in truth, we like Jesus’ Disciples are also targeted and treated hatefully. We are objectified, made the subjects of hateful lies, underserved, and singled out for relentless bullying and harrassment. As todays disciples of Christ Jesus, we should not be surprised when we become  targets of evil attacks. The world hates us just as it hated Jesus and His Disciples.

But, Jesus prayed to His Father. In Jn 17:15 he prayed thus, “I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.” Hallelujah!!!

Jesus is not of this world neither are we. So, Jesus prayed.

He asked the Father to sanctify us through the truth of His Word. And continued His priestly prayer in verse 20, saying, “Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word” (Jn 17:20) “that they all may be one…” (Jn 17:21). Amen. Hallelujah!!

Have no doubt that our Great Jehovah will keep you. I declare the Word to the Thessalonians over you, “But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.” (2Ths 3:3). Amen and Amen.
