As a young man Joseph experienced many trials perpetrated against him by his jealous siblings. They hated him because of his dreams and his clothes. And God delivered Joseph out of them all. Jehovah delivered Joseph from death when his brothers plotted to kill him. It’s is as though a line is drawn under that period. And he is taken to Egypt as a slave. Joseph was sold into servitude in Potiphar’s house, and God was with him. Now remember that God had a plan for Joseph…. So in spite of Joseph’s lowly position, God was with him.

He did not lose his integrity or faith. He continued to trust God. We did not learn of Joseph making complaints about his kidnap and being sold into slavery. Joseph’s character was being shaped, and he knew that God was with him. He was humble and obedient and found favour in Potiphar’s house. He was recognised as a blessed man, and everything that he touched was blessed.

Joseph’s master recognised that God was with Joseph. He promoted Joseph to overseer over all that was in his house. The favour of God was on Joseph, and God blessed the Egyptian’s house because Joseph was there. He was where God wanted him to be. It was not Joseph’s plan, it was the plan of God for Joseph. So my brethren in spite of the position that you may find yourself in, remember that God is with you. Do not lose your faith and trust in God, He will deliver you and keep you. Ask yourself, Who will the Lord bless through my humble compliance with His plan?

Father God, I ask You in no other name, but the name of Jesus Christ. Lead us to trust and wait on You, in whatever position we find ourselves without complaining. Father, use those positions to shape our character, grant us grace, fortitude and determination to stand firm in every trial. You are the God who delivers, Lord, deliver us from evil, and let Your favour be upon us. In Jesus’ mighty name, we give You praise and glory and honour. Hallelujah Amen and Amen.
