In Acts 2:42 the church devoted itself to prayers. Prayers were an important part of church life then it still has to be today (Acts 1:14). Scripture teaches it and God commands it (1Thes 5:17). Bible tells us that people were going into the house of God to pray at set times (Acts 3:1). Acts 4:31 demonstrates the power of Holy Spirit directed prayers. The action of prayer was continuous along with the ministering of the Word (Act 6:4). Prayer was done everywhere even on a rooftop (Acts 10:9).

Prayers were made by the church without ceasing for those who were imprisoned (Acts 12:5). The church then prayed for its leaders (Act 6:6) it’s missionaries (Acts 13:3) it’s sick (James 5:14-18) governing authorities (1Tim 2:1-2) and just about anything one could think of (Phil 4:6). I encourage us all to continue in prayer, in faith though Jesus Christ. Amen.
