As I considered how much I need the Lord in my life, and how rocky the road of life is, I recalled the words of a song by Fanny Crosby – (1820-1915).

“I Must have the Saviour with me, For I Dare Not walk alone;
I must feel His presence near me, And His arm around me thrown.” (with added emphasis).

“Then my soul shall fear no ill, Let Him lead me where He will, I will go without a murmur,
And His footsteps follow still”

The song conveys a position of humility and absolute dependence in her relationship with the Saviour. These are words that we can make our own and declare for ourselves, in the name of Jesus Christ.

I pray, in Jesus name, that you would have the Saviour with you, that you would feel His warm arm around you, and His presence near you every day as you submit to His Divine nature. I pray, that in your waking and sleeping, you find peace and comfort as His loving arms surround you. I pray, you recognise the Saviour’s leading, His guidance and protection through your desert and valley experiences. And according to the Father’s promise to be with us unto the end of the age, I pray you give Him true worship and praise. In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
