Believe Jehovah
As Christian brethren we might testify that we believe Jehovah is God and Jesus the only begotten son of God but how deep is our belief? We could even quote Hebrews 11:6 and other scripture to support our testimony. However, the convincing evidence of our belief in the Lord Jesus, the Christ, the Saviour of our souls, is the very observable life that we live.
The word ‘pisteuo’ is more often than not translated ‘believe’ in the vast majority of Bibles. However, this simple translation in no way reflects the richness of the many meanings in the Greek word ‘pisteuo’ which includes: “to adhere to, cleave to; to trust, to have faith in; to rely on, to depend on.” (Preface to The Amplified Bible). Scripure tells us in Philippians 1:6 “I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return].” (Phi 1:6 AMP).
Lord, Father, God of heaven and earth, I bless Your holy name and give You thanks for this day. Father, I know that no matter how hard I try, I cannot complete the good work that You have begun in me without Your help. You are the author and finisher of my faith. You created me and ordained what I should be before time began. It is You alone who knows how to finish Your perfect plans for my life. So, Father, I believe Your Word, without doubt and without fear. I believe, trust, adhere to, and rely on You. Father, help me to stay close to You so that my life will speak of You. My faith is in You, my God, my hope for evermore. All glory belongs to You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
