Give Thanks (1Thes 5:18) for all of these mercies and for coming this far, by God’s mercies we must be thankful, and grateful. His Spirit has carried and protected us from many dangers, yet in all these the Word of God tells us to “Rejoice evermore” (1Thes 5:16).

In 1Thessalonians 5:16 we are instructed to rejoice evermore and in our rejoicing we ought to give thanks, for God it is who lavished on us the Spirit of rejoicing. In verse 17, we are instructed to pray without ceasing – it is God who by His Spirit sent Jesus to teach us how to pray. Finally, in verse 18 we are to give thanks in everything for this is the will of God, His plan, desire and intent concerning all humanity.

To rejoice, pray without ceasing, and give thanks is not just Brother Barry’s good advice but it is the will of God. Giving thanks to God for all things, in the name of Jesus (Eph 5:20). Paul says in Romans 8:28, and we know that all things every circumstance, every situation, trial, and  sickness, work together for good to them that love God.

God is keeping you, He is keeping me, and if we are truly connected to God we must know as Paul said that all things work for our good. So today, Father, according to Your comandment, I Lift my hands and say thank you, Father God. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
