Prayer is the key to our way of life. More of those who will ask (Psalm 2:8), seek and knock (Matthew 7:7) are needed in the church. Holy Ghost filled women and men who will give in, give up, surrender all to the Lord in prayer are needed to bridge the gap. Jesus said …”that men ought always to pray, and not faint” (Luke 18:1). Men is a generic term for human beings so wherever men/human beings exist in the world, they should pray.

The more praying there is in the world the better the world will be and mightier the forces against evil everywhere…. Prayer in one phase of its operation is a disinfectant a preventive agent. It purifies the air, it destroys the contagion of evil. Prayer is no shortlived activity. It is no voice crying unheard and unheeded in the silence. It is a voice that goes into God’s ear and it lives as God’s ear is always open to our cries and his heart to Holy pleas.

God shapes the world by prayer. Prayers don’t die. The lips that uttered them may close, the heart that felt them may have ceased to beat but the prayers live before God and his heart is set on them. Prayers outlive the lives of those who uttered them; outlive a generation, outlive an age. We can pray better and live Holier lives because of the prayers of passed saints.

When we pray many heartfelt and acceptable prayers we do the truest and greatest service to the incoming generation. Our prayers along with those of passed saints strengthen the present and unborn generation against the desolation of sin and evil. Imagine the devastating consequences if we don’t pray effectual and fervant prayers (James 5:16) now.

Our children and their children would inherit legacies empty of the rich incense of prayer because their fathers and mothers were too busy or too unbelieving to pray. Let’s be steadfast and continue in prayer so that successive generations benefit from a rich heritage of prayer.

Father, we give You thanks that we can pray, that we can call upon Your name for each other, for this world and every family in it.  In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
