David says, “How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee” (Psa 139:17-18 KJVLite). John 1:13 says this about the love of God, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (Jn 15:13 KJVLite).

The author of a well known hymn, beginning to describe the love of God, says: “The love of God is greater far than tongue or pen could ever tell, it goes beyond the highest star and reaches to the lowest hell…” (Author: Frederick M Lehman (1917). As mortal human beings, are we able to begin to grasp the height and depth or breadth of God’s love? When we spend our days doing the things that we do, it is God’s great love that keeps and protects us. What an awesome loving God we serve. God’s love for us never changes, God’s love is not seasonal nor is it dependent on our ability to love Him. His love is always available to us.

The question is, how much do you love Jesus, do you still have that same love and zeal as when you first accepted Him as your Lord and Saviour? How much do you still want to change the world? Let each of us look at our own reflection in the mirror of God’s Word, and let the Word change us, change our thoughts, attitudes and behaviours. It is then, that we will recognise and experience the daily flow of God’s love in our hearts. And become more able to love all of humanity.

I pray in Jesus’ name, you find your place of worship and express your love to God – just because He loves you. I pray that you make every effort to share God’s wonderful love with everyone, everywhere you are, in Jesus’ name. I pray that your heart becomes filled with astonishment at the greatness of God’s love. I pray that you fall in love with Jesus all over again, and that as you bow your heart and knees, God’s love will exude from you to pray for and care about His people.
